Event 16 Winner: Evers

$1000 + $90 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Tom Evers (East Northport, NY)
$35,210

Blinds 20k/40k/4k ante

After playing heads up for more than three hours all the chips are in preflop.

Alex Torres: K♣ 4♠
Tom Evers: J 10

Flop: 4 8♣ 6♦  (Torres pair of 4s)

Turn: 6♠ (Torres two pairs)

River: J♦  (Evers higher two pairs)

The jack on the river gives Evers two pairs and his second Borgata title.

"This one was a lot of tougher at the end with the final two tables," says Evers, who won his first title during January's Borgata Winter Poker Open ($53,000).  "The final two [Torres and Pierre Bowery] were both tough, young aggressive players."

Evers is a 50-year-old CFO, who will be back Monday to play in the Championship Event.

While he didn't get to see his four children on Father's Day, Evers was glad they "let" him play as a gift.  Wife Lori was on the rail, while Jax, T.J., Danielle and John followed the blog and all the updates from home.

"She [Lori] gets the money, I get the trophy," says Evers, who now has a bookend for his Winter Open title, which he proudly displays next to autographed Derek Jeter and Darryl Strawberry baseballs.

In addition to the trophy, Tom Evers earns $35,210 for the win.
