Today's Seven Card Stud tournament fielded 42 players, who ponied up the $400 + $50 price tag. The last Stud standing was Paul Mangine (Bethpage, NY). For his victory he earned $7,333 and the shiny new Borgata Trophy.
This is Mangine's second Borgata title. He won the Stud event during the 2008 Borgata Summer Poker Open, along with $18,414. Stud is definitely his game and his dream is to someday win a bracelet at the World Series of Poker, playing against the best Seven Card Stud players in the world. For now, he will return to his job working in a bank.
Second-place honors went to Randy Tong (New York, NY). The businessman from New York took the chip lead with two tables left, but surrendered the lead near the end. Tong will take home $4,074 for his first-ever reported tournament cash.
Borgata regular Joe Loguidice (Atlantic City, NJ) made the final table of nine, but did not make the money. Rathe Miller (Philadelphia, PA) has claimed Stud titles at other venues, but is still looking for his first Borgata Open title. He made it to the final two tables today, but reported to the rail soon after. Glenn Engelbert (Sicklerville, NJ) who already has two Borgata Open titles, played today, but did not cash.
