Event 6: Permission Slip

Robert Melo (Howard Beach, NY) hangs up the phone, walks over to media row and says, "I got permission to try for three in a row."

Melo has been on a hot streak the last couple of days with back-to-back final tables and $6,500 in earnings. After an 8th place finish in PLO, Melo comes back for 5th place in Event 4 (NL), and is now looking for three final tables in a row.

"I've been here since Wednesday," he says, "so I had to call home to make sure I could stay late."

Melo is glad to give a shout out to his wife Ellen and says, "she's going to get a piece of whatever I'm up, probably 50%."

With that kind of return, maybe Melo can get a two week pass for entire Borgata Summer Poker Open.

Less than an hour later Melo is out of the tournament. When the table is asked who busted him, the response is, "he busted himself." Ouch.
