Event 12: Montes Doubles

$260 + $40 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)  

Jose Montes (Bronx, NY) registered late, squeaking in under wire before registration closed.  By the dinner break, he had run his 25k starting stack up to ~210k.

Since then, he's been going the wrong way.  He just open-shoved and had another player move in over the top, causing a third player to fold pocket 9s.

Jose had AT suited and was in bad shape against pocket Tens.  Then the board came A 5 3 4 3 and Jose took the pot, doubling up to ~270k (if the third player had come in, he would have tripled up).

Jose went on a tear here during the 2011 Summer Open, winning the $400 Six Max No Limit event (over $14k) and finishing 2nd in the $200 Deep Stack No Limit event (over $13k).
