Knee High in Chips and In the Tank
Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante
Andy Knee (Mt. Sinai, NY) raises from middle position to 150k and gets a call from Leon Motola (East Windsor, NJ), who's in the SB.
Flop: 9 3 8
Motola leads out for 250k, roughly half his stack, and Knee goes in the tank. He checks his cards, uses a lot of hand motions as he reenacts the hand, and grimaces multiple times.
Knee eyeballs Motola's stack and asks for a count. This goes on for two minutes before Knee shrugs and moves all in. Motola snap calls.
Motola: A J (two over cards)
Knee: 9 9 (set of nines)
"What are you worried about," says Motola who is dead to running straight cards.
"I didn't say I was worried," says Knee, "I wanted you to come along. I was playing the game."
The board bricks out and Motola is out in 24th place for $767.
"What a great performance," says Glen Wilkins (Freehold, NJ) who has a front row seat.
Knee has been a chip leader the last few levels and is up to 1.55 million.
