Chris Csik (Martinsville, NJ)
$38,627
Blinds 10k/20k/3k ante
On the final hand Mike Melkersen ships 700k all in preflop and is at risk.
Csik: A♥ 3♣
Melkersen: A♦ 5♠
Flop: 8♥ 3♦ 4♦ (Csik pair of 3s)
Turn: K♠
River: A♠
Csik's pair of 3s is best and he wins the title.
"This is number one," says Csik when ranking this, his highest career cash, among his poker achievements.
Csik is a 25-year-old, who's primarily a cash game player, but is now looking to play a lot more tournaments. He says this win goes along with three bubble finishes in the series.
"It seems like I can do it," Csik says, adding that this is roughly only the 10th tournament he's ever played. "I beat three-quarters of every field I played here, I just didn't cash in all of them.
"I can now prove to my parents and my girlfriend that this is no longer a pipe dream."
Chris Csik takes home the trophy and $38,627 for the win.
