I had just identified the player at table 2, seat 3, as the chip leader with ~250k. Then he got involved in a pot with Nick Salimbene (Brick, NJ).
Nick Salimbene
On the flop of Q J 7 seat 3 bet and got called by Nick. Turn was an 8 and seat 3 checked. Nick made a big bet and after some thought, seat 3 called.
River was an Ace (no flush possible). Seat 3 checked. Nick moved all-in for 85k. Seat 3 asked for the count, then tanked for a few minutes.
He eventually called. Nick showed KT of spades for Broadway and the nuts. Seat 3 mucked. He was left with only about 40k.
Nick doubled up to about 500k and is clearly the chip leader.
Seat 3 busted out soon after, leaving 28 players. They are now on the true bubble and playing hand-for-hand.
